...and the next stage after casting?

We offer expert finishing services that ensure every piece meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. From removing sprues, ready for polish, to soldering fittings, to barrelling and vibratory polishing, our finishing services are designed to bring out the full potential of your jewellery designs.

Sprue Removal

While we take the utmost care in snipping the sprues from your castings, there's always a wee bit that needs to be hit with a file. We're happy to do this for you by request when you order your castings. We can even remove them from the insides of rings and bangles and that can save you a bit of precious time when they arrive on your bench hook.

Grinding Out

Whatever else you do on a ring or a bangle, the inside must be perfect. Flat, no holes and no sharp edges and a beautiful shine. We can happily take on the smoothing of the inside using our high speed grinders, leaving a surface just ready for you to polish. You can request this service when you order your castings.

Fitting Fittings

How fitting. We also offer soldering services (flames, not lasers.) Adding jump rings to pendants, attaching brooch catches to kilt pins or soldering those fiddly earring posts to your studs or perhaps you already have the perfect fittings in stock? Get them to us and we'll do rest. What are you going to do with all this free time?? We hope it's something nice.

Preparing castings for polishing

There's no denying it. Castings have a seam, called a 'part line'. Usually it's possible to keep it hidden when we carefully open your moulds but no matter what, it's going to be there. It's only quick wipe with some emery, a fettle here, a burnish there but maybe all that tedious filing is dampening your creative spirit? We can offer a service preparing your castings for you to polish. Anything we can cast we can prepare - ask us for a quote. We only ask that you order a minimum of 20 pieces to be finished with this service.

...or a Complete Finish

If skill or time isn't in ample supply, we can take on finishing your castings ready for your customer. Don't ask how we do it because it's all magic. Once again, only a minimum of 20 pieces.
