Wax plays a crucial role in the jewellery casting process, particularly in the lost-wax casting method. This technique involves creating a detailed wax model of the jewellery piece, which is then encased in a mould. The wax is melted away, leaving a cavity into which molten metal is poured. Use Wax in the calculator to convert your carving to the approx. weight of the casting in metal.
Silver is renowned for its brilliant sheen and affordability. Sterling silver, consisting of 92.5% silver and 7.5% alloy, is commonly used in jewellery casting. Silver’s versatility makes it ideal for both contemporary and traditional designs.
Gold is one of the most popular choices for jewellery. Available in several colours and karats, gold’s malleability and lustrous finish make it a favourite. We offer gold in yellow, white, and rose varieties, ranging from 9k to 24k, to suit your design needs.

Copper is a versatile metal known for its reddish-brown colour and excellent conductivity. While not classified as a precious metal, copper is frequently used in jewellery making, especially in alloy form with other metals like gold or silver.

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, celebrated for its warm, yellowish-gold hue. It is widely used in jewellery casting for its strength and workability, often serving as an affordable alternative to gold.
